Welcome to Light Up the Word. I’m not a pastor, and I’m not here to preach at you—I just want this to feel like a real conversation between friends. Whether you’re a teenager, an adult, or someone who’s just curious about faith, this space is for honest reflection and genuine connection. I didn’t grow up in church—except maybe Easter, and even then I thought it was about a bunny and some eggs. It wasn’t until college, during one of the hardest seasons of my life, that I got down on my knees and really talked to God for the first time. I didn’t have the right words. I made a lot of desperate promises I didn’t fully understand. But God heard me. He answered. And while I didn’t feel instantly changed, I started noticing something new—I felt convicted. I started caring about things I’d never even thought about before. That’s how I knew He was real.
The truth is, we all stumble. We all fall short. But God’s peace, the kind that fills you up when you’re walking in step with Him—it’s like nothing else. And in a world that gives us everything but time with God, I want to help make space for that. To be a disciple isn’t just about calling yourself a Christian—it’s about putting Him first, living like you love Him, and letting that love pour into how you treat others. Do we crave time in His Word? Do we pray in private? Are we generous, compassionate, bold? Not because we have to, but because we get to. Because love overflows.
One day, we’re all going to stand before Christ. Not to be condemned—but to have our lives, our choices, tested. And what’s built on Him—faith, love, truth—that’s what will last. My hope is that this site helps you live a life that does last. One built on something eternal.
